The Home, Studio and the Garden

Over the past decade, I have been gradually working on our ancestral farm in Calicut, making small additions and alterations while complementing the existing structures and agricultural terraces originally built by my grandfather. The intention has never been to impose something new on the land, but to preserve the spirit of the place and allow old and new elements to coexist naturally.

I think of the farm as a garden in progress rather than a finished project. It continues to evolve slowly, adapting to new needs while retaining traces of what came before. Today, the farm is home to both my dwelling and studio, and serves as an ongoing exploration of landscape, settlement and dwelling. Many of the ideas that inform my architectural and teaching practice continue to emerge from this long relationship with the land.
