Garden Terraces is a small residential development of eight homes — two three-bedroom homes, five two-bedroom homes and a one-bedroom home. The project explores how a sense of garden and outdoor living can be maintained within a compact residential development. The ground-floor homes open directly onto private gardens, while the upper-floor homes have generous terraces overlooking the common garden. The terraces extend the living spaces outdoors, creating a close relationship between the homes and the garden.

The homes are organised around compact shared circulation, allowing more space within the plan for the individual dwellings. Living, dining and kitchen spaces are conceived as continuous areas, opening generously onto the terraces and gardens. All the homes are planned for good cross-ventilation.

Although the homes share a common logic, no two are identical. Variations in the arrangement of rooms, terraces and projections create individuality within the repetition, giving the building a varied and layered character. The eight homes come together as a coherent whole while retaining their individual identities.
